Vokalzeit Biographies
Jan Remmers
.. wurde 1978 in Wilhelmshaven geboren und wuchs in Friesland auf. Nach dem Abitur studierte er zunächst Schulmusik in Oldenburg. 1999 nahm er in Berlin an der HfM „Hanns Eisler“ ein Gesangsstudium auf, welches er 2006 abschloss. Der junge Tenor nahm schon während der Studienzeit rege am Konzert- und Opernleben teil, so hat er unter anderem die Partie des Ferrando aus Mozarts „Così fan tutte“ bei den Wiener Festwochen 2004 gegeben und ist außerdem mit dem Tenorsolo in Weills „Berliner Requiem“ zu hören, welches im Rahmen des Lucerne Festivals aufgenommen wurde und bei Nimbus Records erschienen ist. Jan Remmers ist seit dem 1. April 2005 festes Ensemblemitglied im Rundfunkchor Berlin.
Seit 2009 ist er 1. Tenor im Ensemble „Vokalzeit“
Joachim Vogt hails from Dittersbach in what is now the Czech Republic. After completing studies in Music and German he went on to take a degree in Classical Voice at the Academy of Music “Hanns Eisler” in Berlin. Already as a student he landed a job with the Berlin Radio Choir, and at the same time began building a reputation as an ensemble vocalist (“Capella lipsiensis”, “Berliner Solisten”), a guest vocalist at the Berlin State and Comic Operas, and as a leading performer of contemporary vocal works. He also spent several years as head of the Voice Department at the Händel School in Berlin. Joachim Vogt also sings every season with the Bayreuth Festival Choir. |

Michael Timm was born in Gütersloh in western Germany. He studied Music and Voice in Detmold (Westfalia) and Freiburg im Breisgau. Thereafter he worked as a freelance singer (with, among others, the WDR and RIAS choirs); he joined the Berlin Radio Choir in 1991. Michael Timm is characterized by a great versatility in his work and is comfortable as both chamber vocalist and soloist; his concert engagements have included performances with the Berlin Philharmonic, the German Symphony Orchestra, the Radio Symphony Orchestra, and most recently at the Easter Festival in Salzburg in 2006.
Oliver Gawlik began his career early singing in state and cathedral youth choirs in his native Berlin. He went on to study Music at the city’s University of the Arts (UdK), after which he worked as a freelance performer - predominantly with the RIAS Chamber Choir and the SDR Choir. From 1994-96 he was part of the company at Berlin’s Comic Opera, after which he joined the Berlin Radio Choir. Oliver Gawlik works as a concert singer and is part of several renowned vocal ensembles.
